Mealworm farming

Just saw what I'm pretty sure is my first beetle! It seems rather tiny and I was afraid I had an unwelcome pest in my colony, but it does look like the pics I've seen.

The beetles emerge from their pupae stage as brownish colored then turn the darker black as they age. They are generally the size of the pupae which are about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch long in size. At least that has been my experience.

Starting to see my first little beetles! They are much smaller than I expected. I have no idea when I can start actually feeding some of these mealworms to our flock.

I got my mealies from Amy in June I think. They cycled from larva to pupa and are now back to mostly small and medium larva with a few straggling beetles here and there. The egg state seemed FOREVER but it was really just a month or so of watching those beetles before I noticed the tiniest of worms.

Does anyone know the email address for Knoll Farms? All they have is a "click here to contact me" link and my computer has a spaz attack when I click on it.
I am looking to buy a multi-stage starter colony if anyone else offers these!!!!

Amy is on here often. But it's [email protected] to contact her. I got my mealies from her and was very pleased.

I just got my order of 1000 mealworms in yesterday!

I bought them from Uncle Jim's Worm Farm and am very impressed with their service. I have the worms in an old fish tank with oats, chick feed, and a carrot.
