Hate to break it to ya, :) but it's ALL worth reading. Really!! I'd be hard put past the first page to be able to really point out one page more than another.

Read some every day--it took me a long time and that was doing very little BUT read the darn thing (although I admit it was only 349 pages at the time)--and it was well worth the investment.

On all fronts--those who have entered the asylum, a hearty welcome!! You'll be here a while (because the doors just don't swing that direction, :) ) and I hope you enjoy every moment!

I mean, first you have these....

OK. Onward I go!
I've read it from start to finish and still haven't bought my mealies........hmmmm.....
At my house, we call that " paralysis of analysis".

Page one links are all you really need, then you can ask questions even if they are covered elsewhere in the thread. Pay special attention to the fact that you should put the substrate you are using in a low oven or 30 minutes or more to get rid of hitchhikers. I did a small summary about two pages back basically stating the same thing.
I should have qualified my above post... I didn't mean it is not worth reading. There is definitely a lot of information in these pages and it is definitely worth your time. What I meant to say is that the first page links are enough to get you started on your way. A lot of what follows after the first step is waiting. That is the perfect time to finish reading.

Just get a container, put in some wheat bran (heat it in the oven first to kill hitchhikers... let it cool before adding mealworms), get some mealworms and put them in (more is better ... I started with 1000). Add something like newspaper or a lid from a container and put some carrots on top. Then read about what else to feed, how often, choose to separate or not, choose to use 1 container, or 2, 3, 12, 30, etc. Keeping them warm is better (over 80 and under 100 is best but other temperatures work too).

I just don't want people getting frustrated trying to read over 500 pages and think mealworms are complicated or that they have to wait until they read all the pages before starting. Get started now. Then adjust as you go. They are actually really easy. Waiting is the hardest part. But that is where this thread comes in :)

I couldn't agree more!

I would also add that someone shouldn't be too worried about asking a question that has been posed and answered in the past. 500+ pages is a lot for anyone to read. Plus, with new members, you might get a slightly different explanation to your question that makes more sense to you or your situation. We're all about promoting and enabling here!
