Mealworm farming

Ugh came home from a weekend away and now we are infested with grain mites.

I have them in one container. Its also full of micro baby mealworms tho. I just change out the carrots every couple days with mites hanging on

I opened our 50 gal can of meal the other day and it was infested with weevils
We are huge TSC customers and they not only refunded our money for the 50 lb bag of meal but let us dump the infested meal in their dumpster. Luckily we've not noticed any contamination in our other feed.
Sure wish you the best with your infestation. I said no more 50 lb bags-too much to store for our small mealworm farm.

Does anyone use oats and wheat bran combo for their mealworms?

Whole wheat flour, corn meal, chicken starter ( non medicated), and ground dog food in equal parts...
This is my first rodeo though...started with 250 mealies July 15, and have 10 Beatles and 20 pupa so far!!!
Last week the word of the week for my 6 yo son was PUPATE!!!

Was that wheat bran? I can't find it anywhere. Tsc and rural kibg both thought I was crazy I mean I might be a tad, but I wasn't making up wheat bran lol

I currently have oats and flock raiser in with my beetles. Oats and whole wheat flour in my micro mealworms.

TSC calls it wheat middlings. The bag is kind of a beige and white. They only sell 50 lb bags but it's inexpensive-like between $9-10, & that's alot of meal.
