Mealworm farming

Chickens are so funny. All they think about is what is there to eat and what might want to eat them.

Answering the question about the tiny beetles in the order from Rainbow. Those are a cleaning crew beetle . some mealworm companies have them. Its goid to get rid of them as they can breed and take over your farm .

:lau I wish I could put that on auto correct, but I am at the Puter and for some reason I ALWAYS spell it like that.... along with liek too ;) My mind must be thinking something else, like food.

Love that Bumper sticker !

Hello all, I see this thread hasn’t been active for awhile but I’m hop My for some help. I read through the first 50 or so pages back in February when I first started my mealworm farm. I am using the one container method and I have two farms going. The problem is that on my first farm I noticed that I’m getting grain mites. I saw traces of them over the past month but wasn’t sure it was really them bc I only saw their poop and stuff but today I saw a few crawling on a dead beetle! Can I do anything to save the colony! My second generation worms are getting bigger and there’s lots but just aren’t quite big enough to feed my chickens.... I’m so bummed. But I also want to save the second colony which sits close but has no sign of them in it yet. Any advice is appreciated! I feel like I read there was no saving them (Amy had them if I recall) once the mites took hold.☹️
