I got some mealworms to start introducing to my chicks. I was wondering if I should cut them up or leave them whole. They look so big (especially compared to their starter feed)! I'll be introducing grit as well.

the worms are so brittle they break up when they peck them...I feed mine about a tablespoon at a time a few times a day..the take them out of my hand now..at first I had to sprinkle some around...then they figured it out im a good guy and get to him he has treats that we go nuts over...jeff

I agree with Jeff, I have week olds that I have given mealworms uncut and I just make sure to add grit to help digestion

I breed my own mealworms. I give chicks more than a week old the "baby" worms. Although they never hesitate to grab a full sized one a run for his money. When I give to chicks being raised by mom, she will break them up for the chicks. its so cute to see
