Mealworms?

Bought very small mealworms for 4-5 week old chicks. How important is it that I get the mealworms separated from the flaky stuff they're packed in before serving to chicks? Little boogers are TINY.

Little boogers are TINY. I feed mealworms, both alive a dried. I look closely for mold, etc. and do the smell test. I do not feed anything that is questionable.
 
Thank you! I emailed the manufacturer to ask what they're packed in also.
 
Wheat bran is the most common substrate, but others might use corn meal or rolled oats. All are fine for birds.
