mean pullet

If one of my hens or poults showed behavior this damaging she would go in the soup pot. No matter how many eggs she laid, it would not be worth the damage to me and my other hens. Good Luck!

I kept her in the dog crate for a couple of weeks and this time she got much tamer. I would let her out when I was in the yard. When I put her back with the flock this time her behavior was much improved. Between the "time out" and the better weather, which has allowed them to be outdoors scratching in the yard all day, she seems to have mostly gotten over her problem. We'll see if she turns out to be a mean hen later, but for now all is going well.

We used chicken blinder on our mean hen like they have here. http://www.eggcartons.com/Pinless-Peepers-p/pinless-p-1.htm
