Mean roo?

Your boys are practicing. They don't know what they are doing yet. They will get better as they mature. The testosterone is starting to flow.

our roo is doing that too. we have new friends that have raised chickens who told me that their roo had a favorite hen and she was feather less but they seemed to enjoy each others company.

I agree with the others on here - that sounds like mating.

If you're worried about her feathers you could always try a hen saddle.

I purchased mine from www.hensaver.com

My girls hated wearing them at first, but now they don't care about having them on at all.

I know it saves their backs a lot of damage. It doesn't protect their necks at all, but the boys seem to have figured out how not to damage their neck feathers too much.

Thanks for the info everyone! It really means a llot to me!
Now i dont have to be worried about my hens getting hurt!!
