That IS funny! I didn't realize it came across like that! All my girls are straight, thankfully. Pearl is the jealous type, tho and chases Merle whenever he goes after another hen. I told my husband if chickens had cell phones Pearl would be checking his texts and messages.

I believe the "Book" value is 1 Roo for every 10-12 hens. Every time I go out of that range I have troubles

We are beginning to see what you mean. Merle gives our 3 girls a run for tbeir money mist every morning. Seriously considering a few more ladies.

I say book value because Animals don't always go by the books When I was a herdsman raising hogs, I saw a lot of things that challenged what I learned in College. Nothing beats life experience.
