Measuring horse heights

She's an '06. I understand that some will use it as an estimate, but I've never heard of advertising it. Although this is one Craigslist, heaven knows the stuff that ends up on there. LOL

She doesn't exactly have looks working in her favor, why point out that she's built so downhill?

She looks like two different horses.

i've herd in england that a horse will not get it's perment hight charted till the age of 7.....any ways....the mare is only 3 and has 13 months of training wich means they started her at 2....really to sound supper mean but that mare is ugly...way to down hill.....neck and head are too small for barrel, sickle hocked.....makes me wonder what there hidding under that saddle.....yeah i know it's only 3 but what are the chances of that mare turning in to any thing

The most shocking thing is the price. $8000?!!

Unfortunately I think the pictures really really exagerate her downhill build.

The saddle "helps" by making her look a little more level, but they should have taken the pictures with her quartering towards the camera, not away.

I agree, that $8000 made my eyes pop too. But there are people out there that would pay it, not me though!

Don't care much for the horse, but I did fancy her color a bit, not super crazy about it, but it did catch my eye. I think many times quality is lost when people breed for a specific color, not always, but it happens quite a bit. I think it's the reason that many times those specific colors have some crazies in there. I went to an appaloosa farm once and they main stud was CHARGING THE FENCELINE. Sorry, but if you have to build a fence around your fence to protect customers, the horse has no business siring your farms foals. But alas, he had that sought after leapard pattern coat and a good build, so temperment is forgotten.

It's all about priority, it should be temperment, build, and then color, but often times when breeding for color it's color, build, temperment.

I missed the ad the first time around, it does sound like they are implying that she will be 15+hh once she evens up. Personally I'm not in love w/ her, I don't care for the down hill, and at 3 years she shouldn't be anymore, so I'm going to guess she'll always be. So if her butt is 15h, I would guess her to be no more then 14.2h.

In my experience "most" horses have their height by 4 years (and usually 3). If I sell a young horse I give their "current" height (from the withers) and don't even try to guess their eventual height, now if I'm asked I will give my guesstimate based on what I know about them, but I make no promises or try to make someone believe or expect more.
