I used pruning shears. Cut down near the base as I found they don't twitch as long the more neck you leave on the head.
 
I'm now trying to persuade my DH that I NEED a flock of quail! I've only ever hatched once (in my brand new incubator) and it being empty is NOT sitting well with me

Quail would be the perfect solution because I could pretty much having it running non stop because they mature so quickly and would also feed us well - as well as all the eggs that is! I'm going to show him this thread and hopefully he'll come round lol.

I'm going to check the op so if this has already been stated, ignore me - but what breed were these?
