Meat at the store...oi

Chicken will forever be viewed as "cheap meat" because of the price of grain historically being so cheap. As diesel and grain prices increase, you will see a correspondence in chicken/pork prices as well.

My chickens sell for the $15-20 range each, which is the true price of raising broilers when not able to buy grains/feeds by the thousands of tons shipped half way across the US.
 
you can process as fast as 4 weeks (cornish hen) or late as 10 weeks which turns them into mini turkeys.

6 weeks should give you a 4-5 pound processed bird.
