A local farm was very kind and included him on the trip to their processer.

That's nice of them! I wish I could process some of my roosters I hatch, but the killing part is hard.

Thanks for sharing. That was unfortunate you got the wrong chick, but he was a handsome guy and I'm sure he made an excellent dinner.

I see a lot of people on here try to raise CX like layers when this happens. Even though it's not impossible, as some on BYC have shown, I'm still not entirely convinced it's humane. You got a meat bird and did what I think is the right thing: enjoyed him as a great meal for your family. I hope he was tasty!

He definitely did. It was one of the best chickens I’ve ever tasted!

Yeah, I don't know if you remember but I had to humanly kill a sick hen. It was the worst thing ever.
