Meat birds-whats the best? Newbie question=)

Im looking to add a few "meat" birds to a pen but am at a loss for what I should get. I just want about 10 for the freezer. How long do you grow them? Any help would be great.

cornishx are good but there discusting to raise. i mean (they poop there oun weight every day) so i use the very best dark conish. they dont grow very fast, but good things come to those who wait.
