Meat Chickens

When should you stop starter feed on meat chickens? Or do I feed them starter feed only and give grit when outside in yard once they are 4 weeks of age. First time raising chickens and getting very confused. We let them out today in the grass for 30mins. Grit says don't feed until 4 weeks old so should I not let them outside.

When we raised broilers to butcher, we fed the broiler feed from the co-op after two weeks on starter feed. Theses broilers were ready to butcher in 7 weeks they grow very fast. As far as letting them free range I don't see what harm it is. We did keep our penned up just because our egg layer were attacking the broilers. Good luck
