meat for chickens?

Arlo is very fond of pizza, Big Macs, chicken (since he doesn't believe in a million years he could possibly be a chicken himself)!! he loves cheese, spaghetti, sunflower seeds, he ate a hot dog last night & I dont even know what a hot dog's made out of. He only reluctantly eats his chicken food. Loves worms but too many & he gets the trots.

My girls absolutely love meat! Their first treat at 6 weeks were spare ribs. They are 30 weeks old now and got the turkey frame for their Thanksgiving dinner. They love steak, chicken, pork and eggs. I have not fed them fish.

Chickens have no way of telling or knowing their eating their own their not that smart LOL.

I like to buy a can of mackerel, 15 oz. can, near the tuna, maybe $1.50. That was their treat today. Shall we say, it went over well.

pizza topping chicken doesn't last very long after it is defrosted, so we throw out a bag or two at work....except it's not good for much except pizza toppings soooooo a lot of times the boss gives it to my chickens

They actually seem to prefer hamburger, but I rarely have leftover hamburger to give them!!

Chickens are raptors therefore meat is on their menu. Kuru & Mad Cow are caused by eating brain tissue of infected animals...it has nothing to do with cannibalism other than the fact that it was Homo Sapians eating Homo Sapian brains. My backyard raptors can clean a bird carcass faster than most dogs...and they will love you for it. Every time I walk out of my house I am greeted with a flock of charging raptors, racing to see what treats I have for them this time. As luck would have it, I found some left over pumpkins today. Unfortunately they were frozen so they will have to wait until tomorrow.

Enjoy your little darlings.

Feeding raw meat your asking to spread diseases, now if cooked would be alot safer. The madcow would not have spread like it did ,if man had not added meat byproduct to their feed. Another reason its illegal to feed meat to hogs, in most States.

It has everything to do with cows NOT being designed to eat meat at all. They don't go eating field mice naturally, like chickens do, cows are supposed to eat plants.

i have fed mine canned catfood as a treat on occasion and mine recognize the label on the can when i pull it out of my pocket not chicken or turkey though it seems wrong

From the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke:

Kuru belongs to a class of infectious diseases called transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs), also known as prion diseases. The hallmark of a TSE disease is misshapen protein molecules that clump together and accumulate in brain tissue. Scientists believe that misshapen prion proteins have the ability to change their shape and cause other proteins of the same type to also change shape. Other TSEs include Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and fatal familial insomnia in humans, bovine spongiform encephalopathy in cattle (also known as mad cow disease), scrapie in sheep and goats, and chronic wasting disease in deer and elk.

It has nothing to do with herbivores eating animal protein.
