I have ordered our first batch of 25 cornish cross to arrive late August. We plan on using a chicken tractor and moving daily, but I was wondering if meat quality would be affected if we allowed them additional room to range inside a poultry fence surrounding the chicken tractor? Would the meat be tougher, has anyone compared this?

agree. give them the extra space and you won't notice any difference in texture.

I prefer the home grown (pastured poultry comes close) texture to the grocery store mush birds. Body, taste and toothsomeness are improved. Home grown birds will be better in every way. Embrace it.

Think homegrown, vine ripened tomato to the store's greenhouse wonders.
