I am thinking about getting rabbits. i would like to know if i can turn grass clipping into hay to feed them, if so how. I picked up some grass clipping today and don't want it to get moldy, so wanted to know how to prevent it from turning moldy so i can feed to my rabbits. Thanks, would also appreciate if people could send pictures of some of your rabbit hutches.
Thanks

You can definitely turn grass clippings into hay for them! The best way is to hang and air dry the grass clippings, but you can also sun dry them. For storing you ideally want the clippings and the environment as dry as possible as moisture leads to mold.
Sorry, I don't have any pictures of my setup on here, but here's a link to some fantastic ones: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/850098/raising-meat-rabbits/300#post_13419965

Hey, I'm a newbie to this site. I raise Californians for meat and pets. I read your post and thought I should chime in. If you are going to use grass clippings for hay, be sure the grass has not been treated with chemicals. Also, if you are feeding with pellets, you want to avoid using rye grass. I had some trouble finding a good, consistent hay provider at first and used grass clippings myself. Now that I have a local supplier, I buy square bales. If you have space, I'd recommend drying your grass on screens or letting it dry after cutting and rake it up when it's dry. I don't have a picture of my set up. We are in transition with the rabbitry. The rabbits are currently in a small barn with an east facing, open door. This gives them early morning light and keeps them in the shade during the heat of the day. Here in NC the heat can be deadly for the bunnies
