meaties are **3 weeks** today!

I just weighed my Cornish X chicks from TSC. They're 16 days old and if my scale is right, they weigh between 20 & 24 ounces each already!!

What are you feeding them!? Mine are only half that size!

Gamebird starter from Agway. We show Silkies, Dorkings Orpingtons & Ameraucanas. It's 26% protein. I should probably start pulling their food at night before they turn into real frankenchickens!

Since ya'll are talking about food I have a question. I know that first your supposed to give them food 24/7. At what age will ya'll start giving it to them for only 12 hrs??

But I have 36 chicks right now, and 10 more that went on lockdown today and I'm about to set another 20-22 in the next few days!! And I'm feeding them all the same thing!

Good question! It's my first time with meat birds. Good Orps & Dorkings are dual purpose, but we wanted to try the meaties. I have a feeling we'll do a big order after we process these.

I hope we can process them sooner than 8 weeks.... they really stink!

I told my DH that I had to weigh them once a week because of this thread. He thinks I'm goofy!

I think it's fun to compare progress with others doing the same thing.
