Meaties in the Morning!

My average weight was 5.2 lbs dressed. I thought this was great based on the birds only being 2 days over seven weeks. Yes, I made my own plucker but I really need to use a variable speed drill. It was too powerful so I ended up hand plucking most of them, hence the long day. I had 5 birds dress out at 6 lbs. For me, 7 weeks is perfect. I am going to raise more in the fall when it starts to cool off a little and I plan to process around 4-5 weeks I will also have turkeys to process. It's going to be a busy fall! It was coffee at 9:00am and something else by 11:00am! Well, it was awefully hot out!

Now I am just showing off. After 3 days in the frig, I cooked one up tonight and put the rest in the freezer. My 3 year old daughter gobbled up both drumsticks!

caught a skunk this morning it was pretty small so I think there's a bigger one still out there,hope you catch your critter
