First time with meaties, first time with vent gleet so I'm guessing a lot on this one.

My meaties like to hide under a box in the pen, so seeing one there yesterday morning wasn't unusual. When I went out in the evening I saw a chicken in the same spot so I kind of crawled under the box to shift her to see if everything was ok. She didn't shift so I brought her out and she had nasty white stinky goo all over her behind. I set her on the edge of the box with food and water and she drank a ton while I stood there trying to figure out what to do.

I brought her inside, gave her a warm bath with a squirt of iodine in the water and kind of washed her behind. The water turned exceptionally nasty so I did a second wash. Then I put her on a clean towel on the cat's bed (boy is he mad) with egg and water in front of her. I put a little ACV in the water, and a scoop of yogurt in the food and went to bed.

I had a scrap of fabric under her bum which I changed out this morning - nasty and stinky.

I'll giver her another iodine bath after I finish my coffee and put her on a clean towel.

I'm planning on painting her behind with Gentian Violet (old fashioned remedy for thrush) and continuing the yogurt/ACV

She really just sits and sleeps, but my other Freedom Rangers mostly do that too so I don't think it's that odd. She seems perky, just not eating as much as I think she should.

She's two months old.

Any other suggestions?
