mechanical plucker for cornish hens?

folks.....

my birds will be around the 2.5 pound range later this week and want to do in a few at this size....will a mechanical drump plucker work on such small bodies? or should I just hand pluck? I friend is going to help but I can rent a plucker for cheap.

I use a drum attatched to my drill press for chickens and quail. The secret is the right scald. I find 145 to 150 degrees and 45 seconds works well.
I'm raising cornish rocks for the first time. At 2.5 pounds I wounder about the downy?
