Med. feed to vaccinated chicks?

I'm really steamed!

and it takes alot to make me mad, but when we got our tsc chicks about 4 wks ago, we went to our local feed store to get local, unmedicated feed. Well, I just found out today, that what I thought was unmedicated feed is actually MEDICATED!!

and not even local. It's from MN! Now I know some will feel this is no big deal, but the issue is, I asked for nonmed.! And just today my dh went to pick up grower feed for them and they told him grower and layer was the same!!!! I'm going to call them and talk to them about this, in a nice way

. I can see someone picking up the wrong bag, and I should have looked more closely, but we have bought our feed from them (local, nonmed layer mash) for almost 2 yrs. And for them to tell me grower and layer is the same is kinda ridiculous! Now we've been feeding this feed to our new 4 day old vaccinated chicks!! Will this hurt the new chicks? Sorry about the rant!

It won't hurt them. My understanding is that it makes the vaccination null. I fed mine medicated after vaccination- because I read not to, in the box of chicks the day I got them. Already had the medicated feed on hand. Two plus years later, all are happy and healthy. It is frustrating for a feed store not to have basic knowledge of the items they are selling!
