Medicated Chick Starter?

I have given my White Leghorns and Rhode Island Reds medicated chick feed since I got them. They are about 9 weeks old. I read on this forum that you should keep them on chick feed until they start laying then switch to a layer mix. Should I keep them on the medicated feed until that time? They do get to forage and have eaten less feed since they've been outside. Thanks!

Yes, I would keep them on the feed that they are used to until week 16-18 and then start transitioning them over. I used the layer feed as scratch for the first week making them think it was a treat that I would sprinkle onto the ground or floor of the coop.

Thank You! I will do that and yes I have had a ball watching them grow! One of our favorite things to do these days is let them out into the entire backyard and watch them scratch!
