Hi all!
I have two chicks that have been on Un-medicated feed since I got them. They are currently just over 16wks old.

I have about 2weeks of chick feed left and was considering switching them over to layer feed when the chick feed runs out as they'll be over 18wks by then.

Someone I know has an extra bag of Medicated chick feed they have offered me for free. Would a bag of medicated feed 'harm' the chicks at this point or will the 'medicated' part jsut be useless but still good as a feed for them?

It won't harm them, but only use it if it is fresh enough and was stored properly.

Is the Active Drug; Amprolium? If yes, then it won't harm them.
But like casportpony said; How old is it? Was it stored outside in hot humid or damp conditions?
I personally would never accept free feed.
I would not feed a medicated feed past 18 weeks of age.
Is it a 5# bag, 25# bag, or a 50# bag?
Even a 25# bag may last 2 1/2 months with just 2 chickens.
Your chickens will be over 6 months old, by the time they finish it.
I had feed go bad just past 5 months from mill date, stored in my house.
No way would I accept that deal.
If you decide to take it. Check the feed, is it damp? Smell it, does it smell musty? Does it have a strong smell? Is it clumpy? If it's any of those things. Get out of Dodge as fast as you can, without the feed. GC
