Gotcha, I prefer unmedicated as well. Especially when it's not a medication that I am not familiar with.

For quail I prefer Purina Gambird and Turkey Startena for the first 6 to 8 weeks, 30% protein. Then switching or blending it down to about 24% protein for adulthood.

I am addicted to my startena. I buy it two hours away.

This is what I used for my newest quailies.

I had been using and I will go back to using this once my current Purina bag is empty.
The only reason is because it's made in Texas.
No complaints with the Purina one
