My chicks have moved in with my hens. The hens have been eating there feed ( Medicated ) and their feed ( Layer ).

Will the medicated feed hurt the hens or the chicks which are 16 weeks old now.

Is it ok if we eat the eggs that the hens are laying since they are eating medicated feed.

Thanks for any help!

I would have already had my 16 wk old older chicks off of the chick starter and on the lay crumbles. At about 14-16 wks, I start adding regular chicken food (I combine 1/3 scratch, 2/3 laying) to their starter and gradually reduce the starter over a wk to 10 days.
Hope this helps you.

I dont usually start my pullets on layer till they show signs of laying very soon, usually about 18-20 weeks OR when I get that first egg. However, sometimes when combining groups, the situation isnt ideal. At 16 weeks, they should be fine and the hens can eat the starter a bit, too. No withdrawal period is necessary for Amprolium.
