Some of my girls, who are all about 2 1/2 have coccidia. I've been treating with albon suspension, which I got from the vet. My question is How long after finishing treatment can we eat the eggs. We dose them everyday for 5 days, skip 3, then dose for 5 days again. The vet said to check on the internet about the eggs.. Thanks Mumsue

Welcome to BYC!

Sorry about the cocci in your birds. Albon has a 5 day egg and meat withdrawal after the last dosing.

I hope you can get them healed up soon!

thank you for such a quick response. Yes I hope they all get better soon, it is really about 3 or 4 of them that have it.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your girls, hope they all recover fine.

I'm hoping so also. I have 9 but would like 4 or 6 more. I have all different kinds as like the veriaty

I've been doing that so far for them. I shall be so upset if I have to buy store bought eggs . I'm too spoiled with my own good eggs LOL.
Thank you

Don't re feed these eggs as you will have to wait further to eat the eggs. You are giving them a bit of this med back to them. Albon is Sulfadimethoxine. An antibacterial drug. So don't feed these back to your birds until after 5 days of egg withdrawal. :-)
