I got a surprise recently about having to worm my chickens every 2-3 months and don't want any more. Are there any other annual meds/shots that chickens need?

Wow, I haven't heard about worming every 2-3 months. My flock hasn't been wormed and they're over 13 months old. Are you sure you need to do it, that often???

I don't think there are any required meds for backyard flocks. However, I like having a few things handy in an chicken emergency kit. General avian-style wound care, like betadine, vet-wrap, blu-kote, antibiotic cream, saline, etc.

I worm once every 8-10 months depending on the weather and how the chickens act in their daily routine. I dont think I'd be worming them every 2 or 3 months, it's not necessary.

Many many long-time chicken owners don't worm their chickens regularly, if at all.

Personally, i keep on hand blue kote, neosporin without pain reliever, saline, Corid, and ivermectin paste.
