Meet Carl, the cross beak, EE cockerel

Carl is an Araucana, otherwise known as an EE from the local feed store. He came from the "we promise they're all pullets" bin and lucky for Carl we were hoping for a boy!!

He's sweet as can be and so far so good on the flogging

His cross beak showed up when he was about a week old and I knew his name would be Carl after Bill Murray's character "Carl Spakler" from the movie Caddy Shack. Don't you see the resemblance?

LOL I do see the resemblance. I hope eating with his cross beak is not a problem for him.

There are a few crossbeak threads. I think they generally say it's easier for them to eat if you pile the food up like a mountain, because it's hard for them to dig it out of a bowl.
