Yes I see the line in the eye, but thats not always correct. Anyways she still has some faint bars on her head and there slowly fading away.

I've found that for some strange reason that the blue budgies are the friendliest...
Males also have larger and brighter cheeks.

I love budgies! I had my first one for over 10 years, they are wonderful little friends. I had 6 at one time, but now I have two.

I appologize if I am repeating what others have said. Younger budgies have purple ceres, adult males have blue ceres, and adult females have white or tan ceres. The older they are the darker their ceres tend to be. Yours looks like a female, and probably a year old or younger.

I would feed her some treats with egg in it for protein. Do you have a nest box? Most females will not lay without a nesting box. And they usually do not lay until they are at least 12 to 15 months old.

Do you think she looks laying age if so, I will start giving here some cooked eggs. And see what will happen I just got her so im letin her kinda sttle in. I do have a nest box, its not realy a nest box its like a hanging house with a flat bottom, but its just like a nest box.

well, this is a started adult...becuase it has a yellow ring around its pupil and chicks only have an all black eye...and yes this is a female becuase it has a brown nose...males have blue noses...

Oh ya, I bet she could start laying! Get that nest box in there, make sure it is stable so it doesn't swing. (You mentioned it was a hanging box, didn't know what you meant for sure.) They don't use any kind of nesting materials. Usually their bum feathers molt and they use that in the nest box. Be sure to not use seasonings on the eggs. Large amounts of salt can be harmful to budgies. And don't worry if she doesn't start to lay for a few months, since you don't know her exact age.

It is a young female budgie.

If the cere (the band above the beak) is white, that means she is a young female. If it is crust-brown, that means she is a mature female in breeding condition.


Do not Try to breed her yet. She is not in breeding condition. I can be very dangerous for her.
