Meet Drumstick, the one-legged cockerel--Happy UPDATE on pg 3

:yesss: :cd WHAT A HAPPY ENDING FOR DRUMSTICK!!!
I have one legged roo, named Pharow, he will NEVER end up on a table, he is my pet for always, I love him dearly [and he loves me]..... He lost his leg [below the hock] in a freak accident. He can move around like a rocket on that one leg, yes these birds are VERY adaptable.

May Drumstick live a long and happy life!

My handsome boy Pharow.....

I occasionally see Drumstick's new owner at our poultry club meetings, she says that he's doing very well. I too thought he would be a great therapy animal if he got with the right person. I simply could not keep him at my place, he would have been a target for hawks or the other roosters.

I'm still amazed at how he could have lost his entire leg at the hip with no visible sign of injury, there wasn't any tearing of the skin or bleeding that I could see.

Wow, a great story. That fella has a great drive to survive! Glad he has a home, but certainly understand the way it could've gone. It's more work to watch over and care for injured or disabled animals.
