Meet Greta she is a cream legbar hen. I went to our county fair, like always, and went through the animals and then moved on. Later that day I went back to the animals and she was still for sale, and then again still so I decided that she needed a home, now something to keep in mind is there were hens being bought left and right they ignored this one hen, I figured shes only 25 dollars and bought her she is my 4th chicken the other three are hatch mates, due to her comb being so big shes constantly shaking her head but other than that and having possible scaly leg mites(don't know how to treat) shes pretty healthy.

She's cute!

Keep her quarantined away from your flock for several weeks of observation.
Having SLM is a concern, so you'll want to investigate that a bit more and treat her for those and don't put her with your existing birds until those are gone.
Watch to see if she shows any symptoms like sneezing, coughing, bubbles in the eyes, etc. that would indicate respiratory illness. Look her over for lice and mites on the body as well.

Hopefully you won't have any major issues and she'll be a vibrant addition to your flock.

thanks for the info may be hard due to her having trouble breathing but I think shes beautiful

Here is a good treatment reference for the leg mites:
Soak in Epsom saltsfor twenty minutes and then slather castor oil generously on the legs and feet. It's a thick oil and it has antiseptic properties, and it will adhere to the legs and feet and smother the mites. Original thread here:
Greta is lovely! Is she having trouble breathing due to her comb covering her nostrils, or do you think she is sick?

I do think its due to her comb and I don't believe it will affect her our fair I very cautious about the birds they get health checked by a professional before they can enter the fair grounds and are monitored daily

she is so sweet if I open the gate and pick her up she will fall asleep in my arms then when I let go she walks right back into the cage she doesn't run away she doesn't freak out she just chills
