this little guy is 2 days and the unfortunate victim of a incubator foulup (my fault) and an only hatch .. perfectly healthy from what i can tell, and quite a surprise i just heard a rucous in the incubator and there she was .. already tossed and replaced the rest but wasnt sure of this one, the replacements have two weeks or so more cookin to go lol ....
anyway, only way she eats or drinks is i play a youtube of a mother hen and chicks sound and put my hand in there, otherwise she just sits in a corner .. any tips?

Provide the chick with a mirror for company.

Tap and scratch with your finger and she will get the idea. Talk to her. Sound from you will cause bonding.

I would get her a buddy. Two weeks is a long time to be in solitary confinement, especially as a baby. Even if it’s chick(s) you will rehome later.

If you can’t do that, not sure…can chicks safely have a stuffed animal buddy?

Doesn't have to be a stuffed chicken. A small teddy would be fine. A mirror is generally recommended because obviously they'd be looking at a chicken (themselves).

She's very cute! I would definitely suggest getting her a mirror, and possibly a friend or two if possible so that she has exposure to other chickens. She might also be more unsure about her environment since she is on her own.

I think playing the hen and chicks sound is a good idea. It might be helping her feel more confident as she adjusts.
