Meet Mr. Big!

It was a time of great stress for me, they're like my kids. So after a few weeks, I was contacted and the people were in the town where I live, stopped over to look at them. The guy was asking a lot of questions and my kind of thought to myself 'Why would they even care what their names meant...just going to eat them'. So I was feeling kind of down and the husband was talking to me so I said 'Thank you, but I just don't want to know what you're going to do with them' he laughs and said 'What do you think we're going to do to them?. I looked at him and said 'I assume they're going to be soup or something'. He laughed again and said 'Oh hell no, my wife loves animals and wants some roosters on our farm, we don't eat our pets' I about cried (44-year-old three service veteran and parent) and smiled...Never felt so relieved in my life. LOL

Love this!!! I’m happy for you!! I know my roosters original momma had the same fears!

Great feeling isn't it?:love

I truly appreciate how the Divine Plan puts the right people in the right place sometimes! (Frankly, I think that it happens more often than we notice, but still...). There's nothing like the feeling that you get from having an unexpected, pleasant surprise given to you on a silver platter...or given as the promise of a roosting pole INSTEAD of a platter, as it were!

This is what the perfect world will be like! Kindness for all, room for everyone. HalleluYAH, THIS is what I love about my fellow man.

I wanted to introduce you to Mr. Big! As you know, I was back and forth, on and off the fence about getting a rooster. After our Thanksgiving Day Coopers Hawk attack I decided to take the plunge. He is about 9 months old (my girls are 15 months old) and so far, so good! We had a couple of squabbles with my two top hens on day one, but now everyone is settled in! He snuggles in next to them on the roost at night!! Love to see him strutting around and his crowing makes me smile! Merry Christmas and Happy Healthy New Year to all!View attachment 1987084 View attachment 1987085
