Views on vaseline seem to differ - how cold is it? But dry is definitely important. I would dry him off when he goes to bed in case he dribbled water down himself.

They are like fangs! Be careful.Right after warning you not to walk under them I opened the back door to see if I could make it through the ice to the Chicken Palace and was met with these monsters hanging over my head.
