Yall are all too sweet!! I’m sorry I can’t reply to everyone.. I have to hurry before this thing messes up! This month marks three years of me keeping chickens and this month (today) I lost my first gal... Lilly died from ascites...
I was out riding my bike on my driveway and the flock headed to the coop.. well, while they were in there TRUMP kept giving the alarm call.. I couldn’t think of a reason but he’d do it then he’d stop.. this went on for about 10 minutes and I could see no one was headed to roost.. and then he started big time and wouldn’t stop so I thought that maybe there was something in the coop and they were scared.. so I went to check and there was Lilly It was sad but I kinda expected it from what I read... she did not suffocate as she was still very red... that was my biggest worry! I said this over on my thread but I want to say it again. It is never hard to lose one. I remember my 1st and I was distraught. I hope that you are doing OK. I am so sorry.

There are two EEs and a brown Leghorn and a white one... I hope @BY Bob doesn’t mind but I want to name the white one Daisy in honor of TGHE..... the brown one Minnie and the two EEs Betty and Wilma....
Some of these could change but for now that’s their names...

Oh lord I screwed up then. I only got 3 to replace Maleficent!

I was thinking the same thing! Poor little things.. they know they are supposed to be under a mommy.. instincts!
She had finally settled down and they have been very content.. now, when we go in there and spend some time with them she will do it some after we leave... but she’ll settle down again... thank goodness that didn’t continue!
