Thankyou ! That’s a Houdan. I had two of them but one passed away an hour after picking them up, probably due to shipping and stress.

Oh that's sad I actually went through that today I ordered 6 specked Sussex from cackle and they arrived super early but all passed away
I have never heard of a houdan I'm going to look them up cuz that one is cute

Aww, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s too bad.

I ordered some more of the Houdans for March because they’re so adorable and quirky and I wanted more then just one. I also ordered some speckled Sussex. I’ve never had the speckled Sussex but I am definitely intrigued by thier mottled colouring and they seem like a good egg laying breed for a small backyard flock. I don’t need too many eggs and I still wanted to get some Polish because I love thier look. Sorry a bit long winded but chicks make me happy.
Hoping your next batch of chicks survives. I’ve heard that sometimes it’s better to wait for warmer temperatures so shipping is less stressful (or ask for additional heat packets).
