but what is it???

It’s a black frizzle silkie mix ... I think :lau

To be honest I’m not a fan of this excessive frizzling. It seems to impact the bird’s quality of life more than I care for. When I got her, she was all tucked up into herself. Her eyes were completely covered, she couldn’t see where the food was, she didn’t preen and was filthy from stuck feed and poop. I ended up trimming the fluff around her face and giving her a bath. She barely moved for the first two days, but has perked up significantly since :love

She’s finally gotten some meat around her bones - yay!

Still doesn’t resemble a chicken though 😂

I have her inside today to keep an eye on her recovering eye. I’m not sure what happened, but she got a slightly swollen eye one day. Her eye discharge kept gluing her eye shut, and it didn’t help that when she’s outside, she’d scratch at it. It’s getting better,
but I’m keeping her inside for part of the day and at night to minimize her activities, and to keep her eye clean.
