Meet the Littles

This morning the Littles were extra brave and followed Echo around the side of the house. After their spats of course. They are so funny to watch.

Mosa found the game cam, something has been around the coops at night but the game cam has only been up 2 nights and hasn't shown anything yet. She seemed quite shocked that her stump was already occupied.

I caught a massive opossum on camera, as long as everyone is locked up at night there won't be any issues right?

Mosa laid her first egg the end of December and Compy laid her first egg this past week. We now have 10 pullets laying and all 10 produced today, anyone have some good recipes that use A LOT of eggs? 🤣

Me too! The other girls often break off in breed groups, in another month or so I should be able to let the Littles free range with the rest of the flock and I'm super curious to see if Echo will continue going into the coop she is currently in or join the other BRs at night.

She was raised with a RIR and they are good buddies though, so maybe she won't. Little Red is so active, I tried letting her out with Echo and the Littles but she runs them like she runs the guineas. She didn't peck them but she puts her head flat out to the ground and runs at them, then whoever runs, she chases. If they stop and she gets next to them, she stops and stands up tall until they start running again then it's head down and the chase resumes. Red has a blast, but the Littles don't, so Łittle Red doesn't get to be out with them. She doesn't run the layers so I'm hoping that next spring / summer the Littles will be bold enough to stand her down.
Your description gave me a nice smile! Thanks😊

They are lovely, I have a set of my own ,Wynona and Dottie.
I love BR's, they are big ,fluffy and sweet ,mine love to cuddle .
So fluffy! Delta and Blue have gotten pretty friendly, Delta even closes her eyes when I pick her up and pet her and gets all relaxed, it's so cute 🥰

The good news is that they are getting along well with the "big" meeps now, they are of course the bottom of the pecking order but they get to free range together everyday. It's so neat to see them all together.
