I was thinking maybe around 4 or 5 p.m. on the 18th in the chicken (Fur & Feathers) exhibit hall. I'd be happy to share my personal contact info with any BYC-ers who send me a private message, and we can coordinate our times and dates. I'm *really* flexible and am willing to go whenever it's good for everybody. I have a friend coming up from Merced next weekend, as well (former dairy farmer), so I'll probably be at the fair allllllllllllllll day on Sunday. I'm going on Wednesday, the 14th at noon (opening day), as well. I took Wednesday-Friday off from work anyway just because work's been hectic & I'm ready for a few days of Me Time. The state fair is usually huge, and if you like to view all the art exhibits and farm exhibits, you really need a whole day to see it all (a day and a half is better LOL ... longer if you like the rides, too).
For those of you with families, the Raging Waters waterpark is also open during the fair. You can bring your kids and spend the day and stay cool in the water. Check www.bigfun.org for more information and pricing. It's just a wholesome, good, clean, old-fashioned way to have some fun. It can be pricey (the food is expensive), but the important thing is to have a good time and enjoy the fair. You learn a lot about your state, and there's a lot here to love.
Beings that it's only a week away, we should probably start coordinating in the next day or 2.
See you guys there! So exciting....
