Hey guys, the hubs and I are still in the planning stages as to how to finish up the inside of our coop. I want something easier to clean than raw wood for my nesting boxes. I have some white melamine tower style shelves I'm thinking about using. They are the leftover parts of another project and can give me up to 6 boxes. The openings are just over 12" x 12" and a little deeper than that. I'll pull the backs off and fix them so that the eggs will (hopefully) roll under the back wall for easy and cleaner gathering. I've read that the girls like a darker area to lay their eggs in so I'm wondering if this would be the wrong thing to do. Have any of you out there used melamine?
