Memorial Day Weekend Turkey Hatch...We have a hatch!! Pics Heavy

I'm a little bummed. Only have had three turkey eggs hatch so far and one of the poults died right after hatching. Don't know what that is about, but 14 of 18 EE's have hatch. I'm leaving them in the hatcher and added another 9 turkey eggs that are due on Tuesday. After the last pipped egg hatched I moved them all real quick and kept my humidity up. We'll see what happens. The poults/chicks that are in the brooder are very strong and active. I'm thinking I may have a nutrition issue with the turkeys since I had a good hatch with the chickens, but not with the turkeys.

Here's a brooder pic. The turkey poults are the 2 right in the middle.

so, the rest of the 20 didn't amount to anything? dang, that's frustrating!

the last time i candled them (couple days ago), the 15 were all still moving. my sussex are all doing fine, as well (just have the one that was infertile). if i lived there, i'd probably candle them every day, just because i like to know what's going on. lol i doubt my wife would let me move the incubator down to our house, though. i'd probably have chickens hatching every week. lol

we're due this weekend.

you say you have 9 more due this coming tuesday? same turkeys?

So sorry about the loss, but congrats on the EEs & the 2 turkeys hatching. My turkeys were supposed to hatch last week, but not a single one did. We did an eggtopsy a few days later & 5 of the 6 eggs had perfectly formed little poults in them that never even pipped. But this week I have guineas, turkens, & dom x going on lockdown. And then, after that will be peafowl & duck eggs. Good luck with the rest & good luck with yours, too, Saltysteele.

Yup, out of the 20 I only have two. The other 6 turkey eggs that made it to lockdown are still in the hatcher. I'll give them until day 31 then open one up to see what was going on. I saw movement in 8 of the 9 at lockdown. I just don't get it. The chicken eggs did really well. The only difference was the first week of incubation and there was nothing that happened during that time that would have made me worry. Temps were stable. It must be something with the turkeys themselves is what I'm guessing.

I had 27 turkey eggs, 7 where infertile, and only 7 turkeys hatch out and 2 died the 1-2 week. so I up the humidity for the 2nd hatch the whole time and I set 16 eggs and got 9 turkeys!! they are doing very well now. my turkey hen has the 9 turkeys and 11 java chicks. my last turkey eggs will hatch sometime this week!! my turkey hen had 15 eggs but my 2nd hen and tom was being

to her. so I sold her and my tom off so she will have her chicks. but becuce of that only 6 eggs are good. so I put the chicks under her and put the eggs in the bater!!

Java Girl 2 , so you're saying that the higher humidity helped with the hatch ? I just had a batch of twelve eggs hatch and I got three chick's ( turkey ) and although there were two more that had developed ,and seven that showed rings and some development they stopped for some reason ? I was wondering if the humidity had something to do it ! I did the normal humidity levels as in hatching chicken eggs .
