Sorry I'm just getting back-sounds like you probably didn't have time to miss me though!
Hope you had a fun day chillin' with your chickens yesterday and actually took time for yourself.
I appreciate your insight and I'm excited to have someone who "gets it" to talk Modern Game with. Most people have never heard of the breed. What kind of project are you working on? How many MG's do you have total? What kind are they? Nugget was white(ish) with red comb and waddles. I rarely find pictures that resemble her, so I'm not really sure what she was.

You’re fine with time! I enjoyed it! I worked some of my new birds, and found that only one of them has never been handled/wasn’t born friendly/calm! I went to the movies to watch the Death Cure with a friend...I dropped a box of Gobstoppers during the movie AND THEY CLATTERED SOO LOUD!!
My project!! I have multiple! I have a pen with two silver blues, which isn’t top priority though. Their babies with be SB sports (Kinda like a splash). In the pen below them though, is my biggest project! I have two overpacked Brown red end and a really nice show Brown Red hen in with a Lemon Blue SPORT rooster. Their babies will be Lemon Blues, and I’m so excited!!
Then I have a pen making pure Birchens, and a pen making pure Brown reds. (A BR pullet that isn’t pure is in there, but she’s not laying yet, but when she does her babies will look pure, just have a faint lacing in their wings!!)
Finally, my “Bulldog” project!
A few years ago, my dad had gotten 3 MGB. A grey/birchen cross rooster, a birchen hen, and a Dun hen. He breed the birchen too and Dun hen. We had NO clue what the baby would look like, since the Roo was crossed, and Duns aren’t an actual color, the breeder crossed ALL KINDS of colors to get her. Only one chick hatched. His name is Ricochet. He is BRIGHT orange with white in him! I’ll show a picture tomorrow. Well, he ended up having an AMZAING body build! Since his father wa apart birchen, I thought, what if he breeds a birchen hen, what will I get? At first, I didn’t have an extra hen to breed him to, so I held of, and planned to put a blue hen with him. Orange and blue. My school colors, and our mascot is the Bulldogs. Well, a month later, I still hadn’t followed through, but I had bought more hens! A trip of breeding birchens...so I finally pulled my birchen show hen from the Silver Blue she was with (for no point? Just to not have her occupying an extra pen) and she is now with Rico! In two weeks I’ll start collecting my Bulldogs babies! The name stuck even though Moxi (birchen hen) isn’t blue!

Hope you could understand my ranting! I’m REALLY into this stuff, and some people don’t grasp what makes since in my mind, but not out loud! xP

OMG! You're cracking me up!
Trying to follow but I don't know the different types-WOW!! How do you know so much about these guys? Unbelievable! Ohhhhhhhhhh------------I WANT A BULLDOG BABY!!!!

I looke ditto them and read up on some stuff before I went to get them. When I got there, I had a notebook, (the guys selling them raises ALOT and shows professionally, and we spent a good 3 hours looking at birds, and I got about 7 pages of notes that I transferred to my chicken log/book when I got home! I also have a standards book I’m using to make sure my birds are show quality! I CANT WAIT FOR THE BULLDOG BABIES!! Two weeks until I can collect eggs... then AT LEAST a month until I even possibly get one or 2 chicks...but they should be worth the wait!
I have 6 eggs in the incubator from Lemon Blues and silver blues, that should have hatched yesterday, but when they are 1 week away from hatch date, I don’t candle them, or do anything, until this Saturday. Hopefully one or two are alive but I’m DONT think they are. I just set 10 more. Hopefully more luck with them!

Ohhh....I'm SO JEALOUS..er, I mean EXCITED FOR YOU!!
Hatching is like Christmas Day every day!!
Good for you. Looking forward to learning from you & cannot wait until you can spare a couple of eggs. I'm going to be bugging you all day to see if anyone has popped! Nothing like seeing those big long super model legs unfold from the shell!

Hello. I wouldnt mind a few of these Modern Eggs if you are selling. I had some beautiful Standard size Moderns that I crossed with American Games. Unfortunately my female dog had to massacre all my favorite chickens and lost everything with Modern blood (as they dont fly as well as some of my others). I gave my female dog to my parents so I dont have to worry about that anymore. But would love to start my Modern Experiment again...

Standards are so pretty! I love all Moderns! I’ll let you know when I have eggs available, but it may not be until next year! And they are Bantams, if that’s ok
