Men are so stubborn... or at least my dad is...

Thank you Sam... I appreciate your candid remarks along with your nostalgic comments... It sounds like your father was a fine man.... Thank you...

It's funny... I probably should have told the story from when I was a small child... My favorite hen went missing and my parents told me that my father had dropped the chicken coop on her by accident... Truth was.... We were poor and hungry...

This is the same man that went hunting every year so we could have some other meat than chicken or duck...

One year he hung a doe wrong and her meat went bad... He refused to hunt again as he felt he had wasted a life...

All of this and he's 6'4"... a true gentle giant...

A stubborn giant...

Your comments I don't think were offensive in any way, and I can certainly understand where you were coming from. We too grew up poor and probably have similar experiences. Your a great person to be able to be there at this time of your father's life. I remember so well the day my father passed away. It was my birthday, and he had called me at work to wish me happy birthday. He lived in Southern Utah and I in Arizona. He had been diagnosed the previous November with ALS. This was March when he called me. We talked and he told me he loved me and then we hung up. That afternoon I received a phone call from my sister saying that dad was being taken to the hospital. He had choked on a liquid he was drinking (Ensure) and he had lost his ability to recover from it. They tried to resuscitate him but he was gone. Oh how I treasure that last phone call and the many times over the years that I had been away from home and married that he told me he was proud of me and that he loved me. I am forever grateful for the gentle stubborn man I call and respect as my father. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share this on this forum.

I was telling my mom about this post... and she sent me the email string between her and my dad... pretty cute... Please see below...

I will add the photo of the weasel once my mom forwards it to me...

Apparently the weasels that I have been seeing have been discovered by the cats..
They have been looking for something to trade or thanks me for the great food that I have been supplying. They exchanged one of the little creatures this morning for a tasty can of friskys cat food..
Kinda freaked me out to see it lying there looking like it was taking a nap........
I have attached a photo of the phantom weasel so you can know that they do indeed exist...
Please see attached photo
Love Ya,

Wow,
I don't think I have ever seen a weasel around before. It is much smaller than I would have expected. (? you mean coon sized?) Good to see that someone is earning their keep.

I think it was Rodney.. Stanley eats all of his prey... but it could have been either of them, they both are good hunters or maybe it doesn't taste good to cats so they thought we might like it?
I am happy to receive such a gift..hoping for many more
Love Ya too
