Thanks Brenda! Talked to my bosses tonight. They were asking when I might be able to get back. It is hard for me to go into the store because I cannot stop myself from doing things!
Just need a note from the doctor.
Talked to the doctors nurse this morning and she knew more then I did. Told me the Doctor cleared me yesterday to go back to work! So going to go in and set up the PT and let the bosses know and find out when they want me back!
Be careful & try not to over do things - its hard i know. I have a hard time sticking to restrictions myself lol ((Just remember you will heal faster))
Had my first PT session today. Therapist was surprised at far down my leg the pain went. From my knee to my ankle.
Did heat, massage and ultrasound today. I go back again on Monday and Wednesday. After that treatment it felt great! Still did as little walking as possible and tonight it is pretty sore.
Therapist thinks it was my ACL that was out of alinement and when it went back into place that was the pop I felt.
I always felt great after pt and hurt in the evening too. Are they having you alternate heat & ice at home? Seems like a long road but it will be over soon.
OW OW OW OW OW!!!!!! That describes today's session. Saw a different therapist and they discovered how far this injury really is! From my hip to my ankle!
This one has told me to try both heat and ice for the different areas and has told me to try some different stretches. The therapist I was first seeing came in and took a look at my shoes and has advised me to go get new ones.
Talked to my boss yesterday and they have been very busy trying to get things done. Told them that if it would help them to just wait til next month to schedule me that is fine. Told me they would call me if they need me sooner.
To give everyone an update went back in to see the Doctor. He gave me a shot of cortisone which after the first 2 days worked wonderful! Was so nice being able to walk without pain.
About 2 weeks ago I was walking between our 2 houses and something on the right side of my knee just slipped. The pain about dropped me. Was able to get in this Wednesday. Doctor said we had 2 choices. I can get another medicine injected in my knee or just go ahead and have him go in and take a look.
Told him lets just go take a look.
He thinks it might be a piece of cartlige that has flaked off but he will not know until he gets in there.
Operation is scheduled for June 6th.
Surgery went well. Doctor found some calcium build up that was breaking off and rolling around in my knee, plus the cartilage was flaking off. He removed the calcium build up and smoothed out the cartilage. Rather nice to be able to lift my leg up and not feel my knee cap sliding around.
Doctor said no weight on it for a month. Going to be hard to sit around and do nothing.
Good to hear that your surgery went well. My sister had meniscus surgery 3 weeks ago and is doing great. Yea, no weight for a month is a bummer, especially this time of the year.
