Merging new ducklings into the flock soon...

We have 5 ducks that are 15-16 weeks old from TS and now I have 3 that are from Metzer. Total females will be 5, 3 males, and I am wondering what I need to know about bringing my 3 baby girls into the existing flock? The flock is at my son's and I have been brooding the babies.

I don't know what I don't know here lol!!

I hate to tell you this but I have five girls with one boy and he has to spend a lot of time in drake jail because he is so hard on two of my girls. You are asking for trouble with your ratio. I know those boys are sweet and loving now. I think drakes make the sweetest ducklings. But, come spring, their hormones will go up and they will go from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde.

I assume the new, younger babies are all female? Are the new ones only a few days old? If so, they will need to be of breeding age before they can be with even one of those males. I am trying to remember how old that is, I think about 4 months.

Good to know! The older ducks are 15-16 weeks and the young ones are currently 6 weeks.
