Merriam poult

Decided to add to the chaos today so I added a Merriam poult to the brooder that had been all alone since 2 days of age. Now about 3 weeks. Hope its a she. Heres some pics.

How is it doing when it saw new friends? Is it taking to its new companions well? Lucky you got it and got it some friends!

The bottom one your "poult retrieval system" in case of escapes? (dead or alive?)

Yeah my "favorite turkey" is a bit birdy but he listens pretty good. It's the fox terrier that I have to be more carefull with.

The poult seems very happy to have a new family. Adapted essentially immediately. She is very shy of humans though. Really relaxes when held but acts like its the first time every time with panic at first.

Those darn baby turkeys sure do have a face that only a mother could love..........sure are cute though!

Merriam is the common name for one of the five subspecies of north american wild turkey.
