Hello I am moving to merrillville Indiana at the end of the month and can't seem to find one way or another if I am allowed to have chickens I have two amazing sweet little ones can anyone tell if I can or not

I did a search with "poultry" and found:

Sec. 21-10. - Accessory building and uses.


(a) Accessory uses shall be compatible with the principal use and shall not be established prior to the establishment of the principal use, and shall not include the keeping, propagation, or culture of pigeons, poultry, or livestock, whether or not for profit, except in the A1 district.

Call the city hall or zoning office. The way I'm reading that is that you can't have a side building (such as a coop) to keep poultry, unless your lot is zoned for agricultural use, but I could be misunderstanding it.
