I got my first coturnix egg today. All swirly and looking like a chocolate bar.

I'm psyched.

We're a bit boy heavy but Dad and I are going to pick up some more pretty gals from the same friend I got these from - same age and they're going outside today

I am so in love with coturnix, almost more so than my chickens.

Congrats on the first egg!

One of my girls laid another funny egg yesterday -- no spots, but with a light brown wash all over it.

My birds are singing me tunes for Christmas today.

And, I like my coturnix more than I like chickens, too. I always loved chickens, so that is saying a lot. I didn't always love chicken roosters, but I even like my coturnix roosters. I kind of like not having to put on football pads & protective eyewear before going near the birds. (At one time, I had some mean chicken roosters whose sole wish in life was to KILL THE HUMAN INTERLOPER...)
